WORKSHOPS

Use the microcrystalline wax included in this package along with this instructional booklet to create a wax sculpture. Check The Society for the Preservation of Humanity website <sph-artfunctions.org> to see when & where to deliver your wax sculpture and for the schedule of our next bronze pours.
Total cost of your bronze will be $ 30.00
In addition to this initial $5.00 cost for the Bronze Casting Workshop in a Bag you will have to pay $25.00 to cover the cost of the bronze metal and other materials required to create your bronze sculpture. We highly recommend schoolteachers to take advantage of this opportunity to educate students (6 years and up) about art and the creative process.

ARTFUNCTIONS
THE LOST WAX PROCESS OF BRONZE CASTING
SPH
club members will:
sprue up your wax sculpture.
invest your wax sculpture in a plaster & sand investment mold.
dewax your investment mold of wax.
burnout the investment mold of all carbon & moisture.
transport your burned out investment to the bronze
pour location.
will purchase, melt and pour the bronze into your investment mold.
remove the investment mold and sprues from your bronze sculpture.
metal chase the imperfections on the bronze sculpture.
and apply a simple green (vinegar) patina to your sculpture.
apply fixative and a wax oxidation protective shield.
This is a great deal for only $30.00!!!!!

Here is what you have to do.

3 easy steps:
(1) Using the 1/4 lb of wax supplied with this instructional booklet create a wax sculpture. The surface on the wax will be identical in bronze. The sculpture must be 100% wax. No other materials allowed.
Suggestions:
Play with the wax and learn the unique characteristics of this material. If the wax is too stiff to manipulate place the wax in warm water from the tap for a few minutes and this will soften it.

(2) Next, get a # 10 tin can (7" height x 6" diameter) and write your name, email address and phone # on it. This tin can is needed to create your bronze sculpture.
Choose option 3a or 3b
Mail it:
(3a) Pack your wax sculpture in the #10 tin can and mail it to us at:
SPH-FUNCTIONS 3821 Cook St. Denver, CO 80205

Deliver it:
(3b) Deliver your wax sculpture in the #10 tin can to the same location you purchased Bronze Casting Workshop in a Bag or to a location on the list below.

Your sculpture will be casted at one of the many SPH ARTFUNCTIONS bronze-casting demonstrations we conduct at various locations. If you're interested in watching your wax sculpture being turned into bronze you can do so by coming to the bronze pour demonstrations. Check our website, sph-artfunctions.org, under BCWB for bronze pours schedule and details.

Please note your wax sculpture is due two weeks before the bronze pour you wish to see. Every effort will be made to cast work at the designated pour, but we can't guarantee your sculpture will be poured at that time and location.
